Warhammer 40,000 stands as a science fiction fantasy MMO developed by Games Workshop. The first installment of Warhammer was released back in 1983, it was designed as a strategy battle game that was meant to resemble the world of “The Lord of the Rings”. At this time Lord of the Rings still stood as only a book, fans of the novel series wanted to see this world come to life and Warhammer was the first entertainment property to bring the series to life.
Over the years expansion packs and new installments in the franchise were released. Warhammer 40,000 is the latest installment in the franchise. Yesterday its online servers went down after EA was hacked by the same group of hackers that took on Activision and Infinity Ward earlier on this week. EA, having some of the best server analysts in the world were able to get the server back online within ten hours. The EA Analysts were able to find a location as to where one of these hackers are hiding, this information has not been released but instead have been giving to the Federal Bureau of Investigation so that these group of hackers can be caught.
EA made a short statement saying, “To our fans of Warhammer 40,000 we would like to apologize that our servers went down yesterday. We were taken down by a group of hackers who also took it upon themselves to hack the Infinity Ward servers for Call of Duty: Ghosts, hacked Activision’s Servers and also hacked the Playstation Plus server. We were able to resolve the problem, find a location on one of the hackers and provide that information to the FBI.
